A Breakdown of the Top 6 Most Nourishing Oils & Butters

Updated: Feb 4, 2019

There are so many ingredients out there found on the labels of our favorite beauty products. So which ones are actually working on our skin? And what are they doing? We've done the hard work for you and put together a breakdown of our top six most nourishing ingredients.

The most well-known are Shea Butter and Coconut Oil. These two are both rich in fatty acids and prove to be powerhouse hydrators. They can be found in several products on the market, including both our Bootleg Body Butter and coconut oil in our Whisked Sugar Scrub Wash 3-in-1.

A butter you might be less familiar with is Mango Butter. This helps to combat dry skin, eczema, and dermatitis. It also helps protect skin from environmental irritants such as UV exposure and pollutants. Mango butter can be found in our ultra-hydrating Bootleg Body Butter.

Another naturally derived ingredient with several nourishing benefits is Meadowfoam Seed Oil, due to its high antioxidant composition. It is one of a few oils that closely resembles human sebum and naturally helps your skin to effectively form a barrier that locks in moisture and delivers nutrients deep into your epidermis for lasting hydration. This unique oil can be found in our Bluegrass Bourbon Body Scrub.

The rich oils of Rice Bran can also be found in our Bluegrass Bourbon Body Scrub. These oils are naturally packed with Vitamin E and antioxidants, which help reduce uneven skin tones, reduce hyperpigmentation and diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This is why this exfoliant goes above and beyond most of the exfoliants you can find at your local drugstore.

Lastly, Goat's Milk softens and smooths the skin through a gentle touch of lactic acid. It is high in protein, rich amino acids and vitamins B6 & B12. The Goat's Milk aids in the repair of skin cells and is a unique ingredient to our Kentucky Dew Moisturizer.

There are only a handful of products that possess so many nourishing properties. Proven to be effective and goal-driven, make sure Me Care is part of your daily routine.
